Practice Baby

It was recommended to have a baby doll in the few months prior to the real baby's arrival to help the dog ease into the transition. Sierra loves to nibble the doll's fingers and toes. We're teaching her the word "gentle" and when we say it, her nibbling turns into licks. Hopefully, she gets it by June, the baby is not for eating. She seems more interested in the musical objects we are collecting than the doll, though.

If I haven't mentioned that I'm tired of peeing in a cup, I am. Every two weeks now. They are continuing to draw blood (those liars) to check on my iron which is only slightly low. I had my first bout of swelling Wednesday at work. Three bottles of water and teaching from a chair for an hour (except to run to the bathroom) cured me. It feels as if the baby boy has finally gone head down. He continues to disrupt me with kicks and hiccups. While testing each kid in my class on a timed reading, my eye was twitching and the baby was very active. It was very distracting! I don't think the kids noticed, though, they're too busy hoping they made their reading goal that week.

Other than those complaints, everything is going smoothly. I am probably an easy patient and hope that continues. I cannot wait for my trip to KC this weekend. I hope the rain is done before my arrival, though!
